We solve problems
others can't

We challenge you to challenge us

We love solving problems. That’s why people come to Specialmoves; because we relish the opportunity to take on challenges which others consider impossible. It might be hard and it might take a while but we can do it.

If that isn't hard enough, we aim to make sure our interactive experiences are enjoyable for everyone to use.  We design and build them to work across a range of platforms, technologies, browsers and devices, for the widest audience possible  - regardless of geography, language, internet connection or even your ability to see.

Kaiser Chiefs 2011:
Create an entirely new way of buying music

To support the Kaiser Chiefs’ ‘The Future is Medieval’ album launch, W+K and Universal asked us to build an experience where fans could create a custom version of the band’s new album, design their own album artwork, then sell it onto their friends for a commission. That involved devising a new software platform that defied industry practice, a database which could handle over 6 billion album iterations and tracking who was creating what version and selling it on to whom.

We’ve just picked up an IAB Creative Showcase 1st place and suspect there are more awards to come. There were over 101,000 unique visitors to the site in the first 24hrs, outstripping takethat.com on the launch of their Progress tour.

Mydeco 2009:
Help us change the way people decorate their homes.

This meant building a 3D tool so users can design their own room, using over 3 million items, for Brent Hoberman, founder of Mydeco & Lastminute.com. The result? The Mydeco Room planner. Furniture can be moved around, rooms knocked through, windows put in and walls painted in mere clicks. It scooped up the E-consultancy Innovation Award 2008 in User Experience, an FWA award, and IMA and BIMA nominations.

Specialmoves.com 2011:
Design a site that looks beautiful across phone, tablet and desktop

Very few have managed to get this one right, and we’ve pulled it off with a slick UX and visual design experience for our new site (yes this one).

Lynx 2010:
Let our content teams publish anything

Anything? Anything. That is, any Lynx brand content that teams could think of: PHP, .NET, Flash or HTML, all seamlessly integrated. With our bespoke CMS, the markets now have the freedom and flexibility they’d been asking for.

To sum up

We want to set standards. We want to push the limits of what can be done. We challenge you to challenge us.
